About Me

I'm from a small town in Idaho, where I learned entrepreneurship firsthand through my father's company, Burr Smith Construction. From a young age I worked alongside him, absorbing lessons in hard work and the values of honesty, integrity, and professionalism crucial for business.

My career highlights include supervising professional engineers, some with two decades more experience than myself, managing cross-functional teams in the design of intricate government facilities, and spearheading the structural design of sustainability projects with construction costs surpassing $300 million.

Midway through my career, I faced a significant challenge with a Type-1 Diabetes diagnosis. This tested me personally and professionally. However, it spurred profound changes. I revamped my lifestyle, diet and exercise regimen, and dove into research on diabetes management technology. Now I am healthier than ever. This experience ignited my entrepreneurial spirit, leading me to pursue an Executive MBA at Michigan Ross.
